Beim Weltcup in Lake Placid sorgten die deutschen Damen für ein hervorragendes Resultat. Marion Thies kam mit der Bahn am besten zurecht und gewann vor der 2009er Weltmeisterin Shelly Rudman. Anja Huber komplettierte den grandiosen deutschen Auftritt mit Platz drei. Die Berchtesgadenerin behält die Weltcupführung vor Rudman und Thies.
Bei den Männern liefs nicht ganz so gut. Frank Rommel, Sandro Stielicke und Michi Halilovic liegen auf Platz 5 bis 7. Der Sieg ging an den Russen Sergej Schudinow.
