Dakar: Carlos Sainz übernimmt gleich die Führung

Nach der ersten Wertungsetappe von Viktoria nach Cordoba hat bei den Autos gleich der Titelverteidiger Carlos Sainz (E/VW) die Führung übernommen. Auch einige Probleme mit seinen Scheibenwischer hielten den Titelverteidiger nicht davon ab, sofort die Spitze zu übernehmen. Der ärgste Verfolger ist auch ein alter Bekannter: Stéphane Peterhansel (F/BMW). Der dreifahce Dakar-Gewinner kam 91 Sekunden nach dem Sieger ins Ziel. Dritter wurde Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah (QAT/VW) mit seinem deutschen Co-Piloten Timo Gottschalk. Die beiden folgten mit 2:16 min Rückstand. Auch auf den beiden nächsten Plätzen liegen zwei Volkswagen. Damit unterstreicht VW wieder einmal seine führende Stellung bei der Dakar. Platz 4 ging an Mark Miller (USA/+ 4:17), Platz 5 an Giniel de Villiers (RSA/+ 5:06), der mit dem deutschen Co-Piloten Dirk von Zitzewitz unterwegs ist.
Einige Favoriten haben sich gleich auf der ersten Etappe richtig Rückstand geholt. Der Dritte von 2009, Robby Gordon (USA/HUMMER), kam mit über 11 Minuten Rückstand auf Platz 8, Nani Roma (E/Nissan), der 2006 als Dritter ins Ziel kam und mit dem Motorrad die Dakar 2004 gewann, hat schon mehr als 17 Minuten Rückstand und liegt nur auf Platz 14.
Bester deutscher Pilot ist Matthias Kahle. Der 41-jährige gebürtige Görlitzer liegt mit 21:14 min Rückstand auf Platz 15. Mit dieser Platzierung endete 2009 sein bisher bester Auftritt bei der Dakar. Letzte Jahr war Kahle 18.
Stephan Schott liegt nach der ersten Etappe auf Platz 24. Bis Platz 20 fehlt im nur eine gute Minute. Da könnte also noch was gehen bis Buenos Aires.
Mehr deutsche Auto-Piloten sind in diesem Jahr nicht bei der Dakar eingetragen.

Bei den Motorrädern war der Portugiese Ruben Faria am schnellsten. Durch eine Zeitstrafe (1 min) landete er im Klassement aber hinter seinem Chef, Titelverteidiger Cyril Despres. Der 36-jährige Franzose hofft auf den 4. Sieg bei einer Dakar und hat 31 Sekunden Vorsprung auf Daria. Aber auch der Sieger von 2009, Marc Coma, sitzt dem Franzosen noch im Nacken. Der Spanier hat 46 Sekunden Rückstand. Stark ist die Leistung von KTM. Auch Platz 4 geht an einen KTM-Piloten: Pedrero Garcia (E). Der 32-jährige war letztes Jahr 10. und hat gleich gezeigt, dass mit ihm in diesem Jahr auch zu rechnen ist. BMW stellte das beste "Konkurrenz-Zweirad auf die Piste. Paulo Goncalves ist nach einjähriger Abstinenz wieder dabei und fuhr gleich auf Platz 5. Allerdings hat der Portugiese schon fast 2 Minuten Rückstand auf Despres.
Dakar-Neuling Daniel Schröder (KTM) zahlten schon auf der ersten Etappe ordentlich Lehrgeld. Mit fast 22 Minuten Rückstand kam der 21-jährige auf Platz 52. Ganz übel hat es Jan Vesely (YAMAHA) erwischt. Der 39-jährige bekam 31 Strafminuten aufgebrummt und liegt nur auf Platz 135.
Nach Ihrem 85. Platz im Vorjahr ist auch Christina Meier wieder dabei. Für sie heißt es sicherlich vor allem ankommen. Nach der 1. Etappe hat die Hamburgerin schon über ein Stunde Rückstand und liegt auf Platz 137.

Bei den Trucks log der erste Teilnehmer schon vor dem ersten Start raus. Wulfert van Ginkel überschlug sich auf der Autobahn (!) und kam so gar nicht erst an den Start. In den letzten drei Jahren war der Holländer immer unter den besten 10. Auch der Dritte von 2009, Gerard de Rooy (NL), ist nicht mehr dabei. Er überschlug sich bei km 72 und musste mit starken Rückenschmerzen aufgeben.
Das alles hat den "Zaren" Wladimir Schagin nicht weiter beeindruckt. Der Russe fuhr seinen 57. Etappensieg ein und führt mit 4:41 Minuten deutlich vor dem Tschechen Ales Loprais. Der Mann aus Olomouc war 2007 schon mal Dritter, kam aber bei den letzten beiden Dakkars nicht ins Ziel. Dieses Jahr schein der Tatra-Pilot sehr gut in Form zu sein, denn bei der Silk Way Rallye gab es einen 4. Platz. Der dritte Platz geht an den zweifachen Dakarsieger (2005, 2009) Firdaus Kabirow. 5:52 min sind sicher noch nicht das Problem. Der Vierte, Eduard Nikolajew (RUS), und der Fünfte, André de Azevedo (BRA) haben schon rund 10 Minuten Rückstand. Die ersten sehcs Plätze teilen sich übrigens KAMAZ und TATRA. MAN ist das Beste vom Rest. Franz Echter liegt mit 15:04 min als bester Deutscher auf Platz 7. Matthais Behringer, der nach der Rennaufgabe im letzten Jahr diesmal einen Platz zwischen 10 und 15 anpeilt, ist mit gut 19 Minuten Rückstand Neunter.
Zum zweiten Mal nach 2007 versucht sich Dieter Depping auf dem Truck. Erhat schon auf der ersten Etappe über 50 Minuten liegen lassen und steht auf Platz 29. Vor zwei Jahren für der Hannoveraner Auto und wurde Sechster.
Gerald Walcher muss vor allem ins Ziel kommen. Gelingt ihm das, wird er wohl sein bestes Resultat bei der Dakar einfahren. Bei 3 Rennen (2005, 2006, 2007) kam er nur einmals ins Ziel (57.). In diesem Jahr kamen sind nach der ersten Etappe nur noch 64 LKW im Rennen. Garald Walcher liegt nach dreijähriger Pause auf Platz 42. MAN hat in diesem Jahr auch noch eine Frau ins Rennen geschickt. Andrea Meyer fährt in diesem Jahr schon ihre achte Dakar, erstmals auf einem Truck. Allerdings sind die Rennen schon eine Weile her. Von 1999 bis 2005 war sie immer dabei (4 x Motorrad, 3 x Auto). 2004 schaffte sie mit dem Auto einen beachtlichen fünften Platz. Mit dem Truck verlor die zierliche 43-jährige gleich auf der ersten Etappe 1:29 Std. und liegt auf Platz 53.

Heute geht es von Cordoba nach San Miguel de Tucuman. Auf 440 km haben die Autos und Trucks 324 sowie die Motorräder und Quads 300 Wertungs-Kilometer zu absolvieren. Die Etappe führt in eine waldreiche Gegend. Die Motorräder und Quads dürfen auf einer alten Piste einige spektakuläre Sprünge durchführen. Die Autos und Trucks werden durch Kuppen und uneinsehbare Kurven durchgeschüttelt.
