Den Prolog der Dauphiné Libéré gewann der Niederländer Lars Boom (Rabobank). Im Einzelzeitfahren in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne (5,4 km) gewann er vor Alexandre Vinolourov (KAZ/Astana/+ 2 s) und Bradley Wiggins (UK/Sky/+ 5 s).
Einen hervorragenden vierten Platz belegte der 22-jährige John Degenkolb (Highroad). Auch Paul Martens (Rabobank) bot eine starke Leistung und kam auf Platz 11.

The prologue of the Dauphiné Libéré was won by Dutchman Lars Boom (Rabobank). In the individual time trial in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne (5.4 km) before he won Vinolourov Alexandre (Kaz / Astana / + 2 s) and Bradley Wiggins (UK / Sky / + 5 s).
