Tennis: Zwei Deutsche im Halbfinale von Halle

Gleich zwei Deutsche stehen im Halbfinale der Gerry Weber Open in Halle/Westfalen.
Philipp Kohlschreiber gewann im Viertelfinale gegen Lleyton Hewitt (AUS) 7:6 (4), 6:3 und trifft nun auf den Franzosen Gael Monfils (3), der Florian Mayer (6) 6:4, 6:4 bezwang.
Philipp Petzschner gewann gegen Milos Raonic (CAN/8) 6:3, 6:7 (6), 6:3 und trifft im Halbfinale auf den Tschechen Tomas Berdych (2)-

Beim Turnier in London schied die Weltranglisten-1 Rafael Nadal im Viertelfinale gegen Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (F/5) 6:7 (3), 6:4, 6:1. Tsonga trifft im Halbfinale auf James Ward (UK).
Im anderen Halbfinale treffen Andy Roddick (USA/3) und Andy Murray (UK/2) aufeinander. Von den vier Deutschen schafften es Michael Berrer und Rainer Schüttler jeweils in die zweite Runde.

Die Damen sind in dieser Woche u. a. In Birmingham aktiv. Sabine Lisicki steht nach einem 7:6 (1), 6:4 über Magdalena Rybarikova (SLK/14) im Halbfinale. Dort trifft sie auf die Chinesin Shuai Peng (3). Das andere Halbfinale spielen Ana Ivanovic (SRB/2) und Daniela Hantuchova (SVK/4).

In Kopenhagen gewann Qualifikantin Mona Barthel im Viertelfinale gegen Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA/3) 1:6, 6:3, 6:4. Die 20-jährige trifft im Halbfinale auf Caroline Wozniacki (DK/1) oder Alberta Brianti (I/8).
