Auf der letzten Etappe der Dauphiné hielt der Brite von Potcharra nach La Toussuire (117,5 m) das Rennen unter Kontrolle und gewinnt das Rennen.
Den Sieg auf der kurzen, aber trotzdem anspruchsvollen letzten Etappe holte sich nochmal Jaoquim Rodriguez, der dadurch nach dem Trikot für den Punktbesten auch noch das Bergtrikot holte. Der Spanier vom Team Katusha gewann mit 7 Sekunden vor einem Quartett, das Thibaut Pinot über die Ziellinie führte.
Bradley Wiggins wurde mit 10 Sekunden Rückstand 10.
Einen guten Abschluss der Tour bereitete sich Tony Martin, der mit 1:02 min Rückstand 14. wurde.
Einen brutalen Einbruch erlitt dafür Oliver Zaugg, Der Schweizer verlor heute 19:17 min und stürzte in der Gesamtwertung auf Platz 31 zurück.
Hinter dem Sieger Bradley Wiggins (Sky Procycling) blieb alles beim Alten. Auf die Plätze fuhren Cadel Evans (AUS) und Alexandre Vinokourov (KAZ).
