Fußball, Gold Cup: USA und Mexiko im Finale.

Im Halbfinale des Gold Cup, der Nord- und Mittelamerika-Meisterschaft, haben sich die Favoriten durchgesetzt.
In Houston (Texas) setzte sich Gastgeber USA gegen Panama 1:0 durch. Die Amerikaner machten von Anfang an Druck und hatten in der Anfangsphase zahlreiche Chancen. Die größte setzte Agudelo per Kopf an den Pfosten (25.). Nach der Pause kam Panama besser ins Spiel und hatte auch einige Chancen, das Tor fiel aber für die USA. In der 76. Minute flankte Donovan von rechts in den Strafraum, wo Dempsay am langen Pfosten in den Ball rutschte. Panama bemühte sich zwar noch um den Ausgleich, am Ende zogen aber die US-Boys verdient ins Finale ein.



Im zweiten Spiel trafen die Mexikaner auf Honduras. Besonders in der zweiten Halbzeit produzierten die Mexkaner Chancen am Fließband, trafen aber das Tor nicht. Beinahe hätte sich das noch gerecht, als Espinosa Mexikos Torwart Talavera zu einer Glanzparade zwang. So musste die Verlängerung entscheiden. In der 93. Minute war es dann endlich soweit. Eine Ecke von Barrera verwandelte der eingewechselte de Nigris zum hochverdienten 1:0 (93.). Mexiko blieb am Drücker und erarbeitete sich Chancen im Minutentakt. In der 99. Minute gab es erneut Ecke. Am langen Pfosten wurde Hernandez völlig vergessen und bedankte sich mit dem 2:0. Auch danach hatten die Mexikaner weiter Chancen zum Resultatsausbau. Am Ende blieb es beim 2:0.



Das Finale findet am 26. Juni in Pasadena (Kalifornien) statt. Anstoß ist 3 Uhr.

In the 99th Minutes there was another corner. Hernandez at the far post was completely forgotten and thanked with a 2-0. Even after the Mexicans had further chances for development results. In the end it was 2-0.
